this week has been a big week for us - especially the girls. colby and mei mei started preschool and dance classes and got a new nanny. they seem to be adjusting well to the busy schedule, but still don't seem to want to sleep at night. that bums us adults out because we were hoping that it would tire them out more.

i started pumping this week since macey is not as interested in nursing at night anymore (a good thing). the first morning, i fed her and then pumped 5 oz in 5 minutes. the cow is back! mooooooo.

macey had her billi level checked again yesterday and she is in the clear. it has gone down from 17.9 to 10.9. the little champ has pooped out the billies in the last few weeks and we're so proud of her.

i've been meaning to post more pictures but i'm not sure what i've been doing that has been taking up all my time. ohhh, i know ... nursing the baby.

macey is now almost three weeks old and literally getting fatter in front of my eyes. she is finally filling out the loose skin she wore when she was born. i was nursing her in the wee hours of the morning a few nights ago and noticed that her thighs are now bigger than the rest of her legs.

i was cleared to drive last week and have been out a few times with macey and the girls. it's nice to have some freedom.

harry potter vs madden 2008

i found it very silly that the tv reporters were comparing the release of madden 08 to the release of book 7 of harry potter. what a joke! harry potter rocks and madden is just another silly video game. aren't you glad you know how i feel?

everyone here is fine. macey has been super. we go to the doc today for another weight and jaundice check. she still looks about the same yellow tint to me but justin thinks she's less yellow. i hope he's right. i'll update later and hopefully post some more pics.

macey's billirubin level was down a little today to 17.3. the doctor did not start her on phototherapy and we're just gonna watch her to make sure she feeds well and acts normally. we'll see the doc again on friday so i'm not too concerned.

she's a feisty one, that macey. she knows what she wants and will do what it takes (cry) to get it. she's pretty much been nursing every 1.5 hours today so you can imagine how my day went ... i can't complain though, because i love this stage. even the middle of the night feedings are enjoyable. i just feel bad because frequent feedings make it difficult for me to spend time with the older two.

macey had her first weight check today. she was 5 lbs 13 oz when we left the hospital and was 6 lbs 2.5 oz today. so she's obviously a super nurser and getting enough food.

the doc was concerned about her jaundice so we had to take her to have her blood drawn at the hospital. her billirubin level was at 17.8, up from 8 when she was tested at the hospital. i think she's on the line of needing phototherapy so we've got to get her tested again tomorrow. so sadly, we'll take her back to get her heel pricked and mashed for blood tomorrow to see if her levels have decreased.

she's getting lots of extra feedings today so she can pee and poo out the extra billirubin.

we finally got home from the hospital around 1230 today. it took longer than expected to get out because my OB did not write my discharge orders. anyway, after some confusion, they let us go and we're now riding the exciting rollercoaster of life with three kids.

mei mei started to show signs of jealousy at the hospital today when i had to nurse. she insisted that i hold her instead of macey and when justin was unable to keep the baby quiet any longer, mei mei's heart was broken when i took her to feed. sitting next to me was just not enough to satisfy her. colby has been acting out some, too, though in different ways. the next 3-4 weeks should be pretty interesting.

good morning all. we were pathetic about postings yesterday. i actually tried to put up pics and stuff but macey had other ideas ... like constant nursings and wanting to be held all night (not that i minded that).

we should be discharged by lunchtime today. that means i have to go home and act like a responsible adult once again and make my own meals and clean up after myself. hrumph! but for those of you waiting on more pictures, they're coming. hang tight.

the wifi was down this morning so i couldn't update you guys but it's finally up so here we go .... macey had no less than 4 black tar poops overnight and she left them all for me! she also managed to pee on me everytime i changed her. thank goodness she does not have boy parts for better range!

i took some pics of her but at the current moment, am too lazy to post so i'll do it later or beg justin to do it for me. she passed her hearing test and is sleeping peacefully at the moment. the pediatrician saw her this morning and pronounced her perfect and loud!

the best part of my day today was watching colby and mei mei with their new sister. colby was probably more excited than anyone else. she must have held macey 20 times and was still not satisfied. she has such a sweet, gentle spirit and so motherly. i enjoyed watching her touch her sister gently and whisper to her.

one of the sweetest moments was shortly after macey was born and the girls just sat there and sang twinkle twinkle little star to their new sister. justin got it on video so you guys will all have to see it!

justin is now home with the girls for the night, leaving me here with the little one.

i finally have a moment of peace to update you guys. it seems that justin has done a great job posting the pics so i'll just write a few words. ummm .... long story short ... i started active labor probably around 7am this morning. at 815ish, i was at 5cm and having pretty good contractions, but they were tolerable. much to everyone's surprise, i was at 10cm a mere 5 minutes later. the pain was horrible but the good part was that i only had to push through one contraction and passed what felt like the biggest poop in history. then all was fine!

my OB never made it to the room. the poor residents had to take care of me and justin was very brave to stand so close to me while i was in all that pain.

... is a really bad movie! long and drawn out and not unlike jurassic park except with an ape that fights dinosaurs. i do not recommend it.

been up since 430am. the contractions are getting stronger but they still haven't checked me yet so i have no progress to report. i hope my doc calls soon so they can break my bag of water.

justin just went down to have breakfast. i'm very jealous. i haven't had much to eat in the last 24 hours. jello has become everything to me :) i'm sure i'll not want to have it again for the rest of my life after macey is out. i miss my girls and hope they're still asleep because they were up very late last night.

well, i got a little bit of sleep last. justin got less. then the alarm for the baby's heart monitor stopped working and a freaking loud alarm went off and woke us both up. they've turned up the level of pitocin and will keep turning it up every 30 min and probably break my bag of water in the next hour or so. fun, eh?

we are going to resume king kong (which is a very long drawn out movie if you ask me). i may just roll over and fall back asleep.

the toilet seat

i was telling justin about how comfortable the toilet seats were here about 2 hours ago. i just went to have a pee and sat my big butt on the toilet without realizing that justin left the very comfortable seat UP! gross!
