Wii Wish You a Merrii Christmas
The Wii puns _might_ stop soon, but they'll go on for a Wii bit longer, at least.
To the topic at hand: How the Christmas tree messes up the Wii.
That's right. I had the Wii in the living room one afternoon last week, and I noticed some targetting problems while I was playing Zelda (an excellent game, I might add). The cursor would get all jumpy, and then appear in a different part of the screen. Turns out the lights from the Christmas tree were messing it up.
I'll not go into detail as to why that happened as it's been well documented elsewhere in the internets. (Try googling for Wii sensor bar hacks or something similar. You'll find out how simple it really is.)
So for those of you whose kids will receive a Wii this Christmas, or who yourselves will get one, here's a piece of advice: If your Christmas tree is near the Wii sensor bar, turn off the tree before you play.
